2009
- ADvTECH acquires Forbes Lever Baker, a specialised tertiary institution focused on advanced financial and accounting education.
- ADvTECH was ranked 16th in the Financial Mail’s Top Companies, 11th in the Business Times Top 100 companies and was included in the JSE’s SRI index for the fourth year in a row
2008
- ADvTECH acquired Trinityhouse Schools, as well as the following recruitment businesses: IT Edge, Tech-Pro Personnel and The Working Earth.
- ADvTECH was ranked 16th in the Business Times Top 100 companies with a compound annual return of 53.18%
2007
- ADvTECH acquired the National School of Photography which was incorporated under Vega, The Brand Communications School.
2006
- Vertex-Kapele, a specialized advertising response handling business was acquired.
- Inkokheli HR Appointments, a niche brand, specializing in the recruitment and placement of HR professionals, was launched.
2005
- The Group’s learnership activities and Corporate College International were consolidated under a new brand Imfundo. Imfundo is a Zulu word which means to acquire skills and learning.
2004
- The Independent Institute of Education was created, the structure of which was fully implemented in 2005.
2002
- The company’s founder and long-time Chairman, Brian Buckham, resigns and becomes a non-executive Director. Hugh Brown was appointed non-executive Chairman and Frank Thompson (formerly Deputy Chairman of Amalgamated Appliances) was appointed CEO of the Group.
1999
- ADvTECH was ranked second in the Financial Mail ‘Top Performers’ survey.
- The Recruitment division was expanded through the acquisition of Cassel and Company and Brent Personnel.
- The second home grown education brand, Vega, The Brand Communications School was started.
